Paul Varney was a member of Yell!, a British pop duo who had a hit single in 1990 with a cover of "Instant Replay".

After they disbanded Varney recorded a couple of tracks with Stock Aitken Waterman, "So Proud Of You" and "If Only I Knew".

"If Only I Knew" , written and produced by SAW, was promoted heavily and a video made but the single was withdrawn from release.
